Meet the Faces Behind the Mission

Tacy Infante | President

Tacy is an anchor. Those that have the pleasure of knowing this bold, candid, charismatic force of nature, recognize her outstanding capabilities to unify, to connect, and to fix anything and everything. She’s the glue that holds it all together, especially for her family.

“Getting the call the day that my niece was being rushed to the hospital in a drowning accident has been the most gut-wrenching thing I have ever experienced in my life,” described Tacy. Living just south of Austin, roughly 4 hours away from her family, and getting that phone call made her feel helpless. “I never felt so far away from my family than I did in that moment. You see I am a fixer, the one that typically jumps in first to remedy any situation that is thrown my way. This was the one thing I could not fix, take over and ‘handle it’ or make better. I was devastated.”

Tacy expressed the experience of losing Finnleigh has taught her a lot about how precious life is and for those of us who are lucky enough to live another day, can make change for the greater good.

“Watching my brother go through the agony of losing his baby girl and experiencing the extreme sadness my parents have over their granddaughter, not being able to help their son, has impacted me,” said Tacy, “I love and miss her terribly.” She cannot fathom the thought of losing her own daughter in the same way and does not want anyone else to ever suffer the pain of this preventable accident.

In January of 2023, Tacy was again hit with unimaginable tragedy as her younger brother, Finnleigh’s Grace Founder, Kenny Infante, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. With the future of the organization up in the air, Tacy stepped up and provided the leadership and direction necessary for Finnleigh’s Grace to continue safegating home pools in North Texas. In February 2023, she was unanimously elected the organization’s new president, and helped spearhead a realignment to set Finnleigh’s Grace up for sustainable success on into the future.

Pool drownings are one of the most avoidable accidents affecting young children. Tacy conveyed that a non-profit organization like Finnleigh’s Grace matters in the North Texas community.

“Safety measures that surround swimming or having a pool are simple and multi-level. Having a gate around the pool area is part of the strategy to protect young children but often that step is left out.”

Through Finnleigh’s Grace, Tacy hopes that people become educated and understand that having a pool safety structure such as a gate is a non-negotiable when you have young children. “If you have a pool and have small kids, then you have a gate. Simply put.”

What can you do to help spread our mission? Tacy encourages the following call to actions:

  • Like and follow all of our social media channels

  • Share the knowledge and messages we have

“The more people that know the importance of gating pools, the closer we will be to preventing this type of tragedy happening to another family.”
