FG Behind the Scenes: Danny Farmer
Danny has been pivotal in FG’s development, offering his inventive ideas and high caliber of brand development skills to help express our identity.
Danny stepped in to help the FG team as we prepared to unveil our newly created non-profit organization to the public. His knack for design and gifted talents to take a concept and transform it visually helped to convey what FG stands for at the core.
Danny Farmer: a product designer by trade, maker by heart. Danny is a professional designer at a Fortune 100 company. He helps connect user problems and business goals in a meaningful, evidence based, visual manner.
Danny started out as an engineer before realizing his strengths while taking 3D modeling classes came more naturally to him than calculus. Soon thereafter, he ran off and joined the United States Marine Corps - an experience he describes as being, “fortunate enough to work alongside some of the most gifted and hard working people,” he had ever met - a memorable experience he feels thankful for. This helped him develop as a person, solidify his worth ethic and pave a path forward with creativity and design. Savannah College of Art and Design graduate, Danny has experience working with amazing companies, big and small.
“I’m an idea generator at my core and design allows me the opportunity to do that every single day,” Danny expressed. Feeling humbled by the opportunities he’s had, Danny still tries to consider himself as someone with a lot to learn. He further added that what inspires his work everyday is, “being able to tie my background in the military with that of design, to push myself and my skill set, and work to give back to the community that has helped me so much.”
Simply put, Danny is a likable guy who leaves things better than he found them.
Outside of his mastery in design, Danny enjoys spending time trying new hobbies - woodworking, board games, video games, sewing, penmanship, to name a few. He likes taking things apart, telling a good story and solving problems. When Danny was approached by current VP of Legacy Giving, Matt McCombs, about getting involved with the brand development creation of the non-profit organization, his inherent tendencies to problem solve and help people resulted in an instant, “yes,” to tackling this project.
“As a father of three under the age of six, I was immediately touched by the tragedy, but also the hope and resilience of a father channeling his grief into action.”
Danny immediately got to work and delivered in a way that exceeded any expectations that the FG team had imagined.
“After some long nights, conversations, and lots and lots of permutation...I think we have landed on a uniquely Finnleigh message that speaks volumes to her and to her legacy. It’s been a pleasure to share with everyone and I sincerely hope that my small part helped in some way to take something vague and make it a reality.”
Finnleigh’s Grace expresses their utmost gratitude for Danny’s undertakings.
