FG Behind the Scenes: Joshua Nasiatka

Joshua, most commonly known as Nas, has been remarkable in FG’s growth, using his videography talents to help showcase our cause.

Joshua “Mr. Nas” Nasiatka is a middle school teacher in Farmers Branch, Texas. His expertise is in trauma informed teaching and students with behavioral disorders. Born in Perry, Oklahoma, Nas spent the majority of his childhood in Omaha, Nebraska. He made, as what he describes the, “glorious” move to Texas in 2017.

When Nas is not in the classroom, he enjoys working on cars and spending time with the youth and marriage ministry at his church. He particularly loves traveling - especially places that he sees in movies. His favorite city to visit is Los Angeles and notes that the food, beaches, car culture, and music and movie history are what keep him returning. Destinations with natural beauty such as the mountains in Utah and hiking Oregon’s Redwoods are also areas Nas finds astonishing to explore.

Most of all, Nas loves to be with his wife, Aryka and their two teenagers, Joslyn and Joshua Jr. His devotion to family aligns directly with the values of the team at Finnleigh’s Grace.

As Kenny describes,

“Nas is a man with a heart of gold.”

His kind and patient demeanor makes him such a flexible partner to work with. Spend two minutes with him and you will instantly be drawn to how much he loves helping others - he is a selfless human being and his actions are contagious to those he surrounds himself with. When Kenny reached out to Nas about helping compile some footage for Finnleigh’s Grace, without hesitation he agreed.

“I chose to help with Finnleigh's Grace because Finnleigh had such an energetic personality. If I can help prevent the loss of a child I’ll do whatever I can.”

Finnleigh’s Grace expresses their utmost gratitude for the contributions Nas has made thus far and continues to make.
